I remade Jealousy (Pet Shop Boys, 1990), because I started making patches and corresponding demos for OB-Xf, and thought this track would make a good demo. OB-Xf is a free and open source plugin synth following the Oberheim OB-X8.

This is complete, except for final mixing. I could look more at orchestration.

I started this project as a demo for OB-Xf, and it turned into a demo for both OB-Xf and Surge XT.

Surge XT

Surge XT does the rest, except Piano V, congas at the start, and the toms that introduce the final fanfare.

In particular, I used Surge XT for:

Solo violin for the vocal line
Violin string section (8 performers), best heard around 03:12 onwards.
Cello and bass
Synth strings
Voices and choirs
Brass: French horns
Orchestral harp
Percussion, including cymbals, snares, tambourine, timpani, and claps
Foley: pebble beach breaking waves
